What is Embutido?
Embutido is a traditional Filipino meatloaf made from ground pork mixed with vegetables, cheese, raisins, and seasonings, then rolled and steamed until firm. Madalas itong ihain tuwing handaan, holidays, at espesyal na okasyon. After steaming, it’s usually chilled, sliced, and sometimes lightly fried before serving—making it a versatile ulam or pang-handa dish.
Why Masarap?
Masarap ang Embutido dahil sa balance ng savory at konting sweetness. Juicy ang pork, may crunch mula sa carrots at bell peppers, at may creamy richness from cheese. The hotdogs and hard-boiled eggs in the center make each slice festive and filling. Mas lalo itong sumasarap kapag pinalamig muna bago hiwain dahil mas buo ang texture.
Best Enjoyed For
Embutido is best enjoyed for lunch, dinner, baon, or as a holiday at handaan favorite, lalo na kapag pre-sliced at handa nang ihain.
